Introduction
Solar System Installation in Barak Al Shati Municipality, Libya
Project Title: Solar System Installation in Barak Al Shati Municipality, Libya
Location: 27°32'09"N 14°16'57"E, Brak, Libya
Project Duration: 60 Days
Project Scope
The scope of this project is to install a 27 kW Hybrid Solar Power System at Barak Al Shati Municipality to meet essential electrical demands, including lighting, air conditioning, and computer systems within the main building during the day, as well as lighting for the football stadium at night. The system will integrate with the existing grid and feature a battery backup for enhanced reliability and flexible power sourcing.
Scope of Work (SOW)
- System Design and Load Coverage
The system is designed to support essential loads, covering: - Daytime: Main building lighting, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Nighttime: Football stadium lighting.
- System Operation
The grid-interactive hybrid system with battery backup will:
- Draw power from the grid when demand exceeds PV generation.
- Store excess PV-generated electricity in batteries when output exceeds the load.
- Enable batteries to be charged from the grid if PV output is insufficient.
- Engineering Site Survey
Conduct a comprehensive site survey to collect necessary data for design documentation and coordinate technical matters with stakeholders.
- Shop Drawings Submission
Prepare and submit shop drawings covering:
- Architectural, civil, electrical, and photovoltaic system designs.
- A single-line diagram showing all PV system components, DC and AC distribution boards, PV array layouts, battery backup connections, and cable cross-sections.
- Drawings must be reviewed and approved by the supervising engineer before installation.
- Component Specifications and Certifications
- Submit catalogs for each component to confirm compliance with BoQ specifications.
- Provide manufacturer test certificates, country of origin, certified specifications, performance test curves, recommended spare parts, maintenance manuals, and warranties for all components.
- As-Built Drawings and Documentation
Submit as-built drawings and documented system settings after completing the project.
- On-Site Training Program
Organize on-site training for designated staff on system operation and maintenance during the commissioning phase, included in the tendered rates.
- Builders’ Works and Site Restoration
Carry out all necessary builder’s works, repairs, and site reinstatements, as well as disposal of unwanted materials to engineer-approved locations.
- Electrical Standards Compliance
Execute all electrical work in compliance with IEEE standards, project specifications, and engineer instructions.
- Safety and Site Protections
Implement necessary safety measures, signage, and protections around the site to maintain a secure work environment.
This scope, to be completed within the 60-day project duration, ensures a comprehensive, compliant, and efficient installation, covering all phases from site preparation and installation to commissioning and staff training, meeting the operational needs of Barak Al Shati Municipality.
