Introduction
- . Identification and provision of a physical space in which the Hub will be hosted, and willingness to co-brand the space with UNDP. The space should ensure safety and accessibility for programme participants and staff. The space should be embedded within an existing ecosystem supporting innovative start-ups, entrepreneurship, and the creative sector and culture. Ideally the space should be scalable to accommodate programme growth in phase 2;
2. 2. Day-to-day management of the Hub, including the provision of all necessary human capacity, and coverage of all operational costs such as rent, electricity, water, etc.
3. 3. Design and implement programming to attract talented creatives to the Hub, including incubation and acceleration programs for creative startups and social enterprises, designed on ecosystem needs ;
4. 4. Provision of technical support for entrepreneurs aligned to the mandate of the Hub, including but not limited to mentorship, professional development, business support services, investor readiness, technology transfer, and product coaching;
5. 5. Convene the creatives sector, and provide creative entrepreneurs with access to the creative economy networks and community;
6. 6. Facilitate exchange visits between the Creatives Hub and other timbuktoo Hubs, to learn from and design improved programming;
7. 7. Support timbuktoo’s continental mission through the inclusion of entrepreneurs from other timbuktoo hubs and other African countries in local programming, ensuring youth, women, persons with disabilities and those classified as previously disadvantaged are prioritised;
8. 8. Conduct research into the creative economy, tracking its contribution to local and African development, while identifying innovative cultural/creative projects that can be scaled
9. 9. Actively produce collateral and communications content to enhance the visibility of the Hub and engage with the creative-tech and innovation ecosystem;
10. 10. Actively work with partners in the creative economy to ensure cohesive programming which leverages existing outputs and resources in the sector;
11. 11. Co-develop sustainability and exit plans to ensure the Hub is self-sustaining after a three year period. This includes the development of resource mobilisation strategies.
