Introduction

The GEF7 FOLUR Project, titled “Establishing Systems for Sustainable Integrated Land-Use Planning Across New Britain Island,” is set to be implemented in the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. This initiative will focus on enhancing land-use practices within two Local Level Governments in Gazelle and Pomio Districts of East New Britain Province, as well as two Local Level Governments in Nakanai District of West New Britain Province.

The project aims to address key drivers and barriers to sustainable land management by delivering the following outcomes:

1. Land Restoration: 50,000 hectares of land will be restored.

2. Improved Practices: 2,712,364 hectares of landscapes (excluding protected areas) will adopt improved land-use practices.

3. CO2 Emission Reduction: The project is expected to achieve a reduction of 32.3 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions post-project implementation.

4. Community Benefits: Direct economic and/or non-economic benefits will be provided to 66,647 individuals, including 28,838 females and 37,809 males.

We invite qualified vendors and service providers to participate in the procurement process for goods and services necessary for the successful execution of this project. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their proposals that align with the project’s objectives and requirements.
