National Individual Consultant: Preparation of Guidelines for Mainstreaming Gender in the Implementation of Montreal Protocol in Pakistan
This project assists the Government of Pakistan to achieve its long-term goals to implement various ODSs phase-out management plan (HPMP).
B. Scope of Work
Empowering women and promoting gender equality is in the core of the UN mandate and as per SDG Goal 5 is crucial to accelerate sustainable development, of which the Montreal Protocol is a part. At the end of 2019, the Executive Committee of Multilateral Fund (MLF) approved the operational policy on gender mainstreaming and affirmed the importance of gender mainstreaming in MLF-supported projects. In line with MLF policy and in consonance with UNDP’s Gender Strategy, IS-MP is seeking the support of an expert to prepare guidelines for mainstreaming gender in the implementation of Montreal Protocol in Pakistan. The guidelines will map the existing issues and challenges in achieving gender equality during the implementation of Montreal Protocol activities, identify gender mainstreaming opportunities under the implementation of Montreal Protocol along with examples and good practices from various countries and draw out best practices for Pakistan.
