Hiring a Solar Energy Consultancy Firm to provide Installation Oversight, Certification and Commissioning of Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Systems
In pursuit of utilizing green energy in line with Smart Health Facilities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Global Fund (GF) has provided funding to UNDP Country Office (CO) in Sudan, as Principal Recipient of the GF HIV grant, through the Covid 19 Response Mechanism (C19RM grant) to procure and install solar power systems at 110 public health facilities in Sudan. The CO, in collaboration with the UNDP Information and Technology Management unit (ITM) Green Energy Team (GET) and Smart Infrastructure and Connectivity Unit (SICU) as project implementers and technical advisors are supporting the implementation and delivery of the solar power systems across all the identified health facilities located in six states (Kassala, Gadaref, White Nile, Red Sea, River Nile & Northern State). The Solar PV plant capacity ranges between 7.5 kWp, 13 kWp, 30 kWp & 50 kWp, some of which are supplemented with battery bank.
ITM in collaboration with CO have hired an international firm, GSOL (The Contractor), to supply and install solar system at 110 health facilities in Sudan. The Contractor, GSOL, has sub-contracted a Sudan local company to support with the local distribution and installation of the solar systems.
UNDP will engage a third-party firm, a Solar Energy Consultancy Firm (Consultancy Firm), to supervise the installation of solar systems at the health facilities, conduct oversight and technical tests necessary for the commissioning of the solar PV installations, to install IoT devices, commission, and handover the solar systems to the health facility management. The Solar Energy Consultancy Firm shall hire and deploy at installation sites competent staff to implement the roles and responsibilities highlighted in this TOR. Installation is expected to commence in December 2024 and be completed in June 2025.
