Introduction

MAINTENANCE OF BLAST & BALLISTIC DOORS

 Background:

Due to deteriorated security situation, some UN Agencies in Pakistan relocated their office to Serena Business Complex Islamabad. As one of the mitigation measures, UN Agencies had installed blast doors at entries of areas housing UN personnel at SBC. At present, ten (10) doors are installed at all such areas that require smooth functioning and regular maintenance by a service providing company.

 Objective:

The objective of the maintenance services is to ensure smooth functioning of all blast doors installed at UN Agencies floors to guarantee safety and security of the UN staff working in SBC.

 Duration of Contract:

The duration of the contract will be one year with the possibility of an extension for another two additional years subject to the quality of the services rendered by the Contractor.

 Duties and Responsibilities of the Contractor:

1.       Monthly detailed checking, cleaning, greasing and adjustment of blast doors fittings to be carried out by a qualified engineer/technician at Level 2, Level 4, Level 5, Level 6 and Level 7 of SBC.

2.       Testing of the doors functions fortnightly by a qualified engineer/technician to ensure smooth opening and closing.

3.       Maintenance log needs to be prepared and shared with the concerned officials of UNDP on monthly basis.

4.       Replacing and fixing of each individual part must be reflected in the proposal document for reference and record.

5.       Service provider should maintain a stock of parts/equipment associated to blast doors that should readily be available for immediate replacement.

6.       Periodical painting for maintaining appropriate appearance of the doors.

 In case of emergency, qualified engineer/ technician should reach on the spot within 2 hours of time.]
