Introduction
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking to engage a provider to supply and delivery of project merchandise items for the AgriBOOST project in Butuan City, Philippines.
UNDP is working closely with cities and local governments to showcase how they are actively contributing to implement Agenda 2030, accelerating transformative action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for all, and everywhere.
AgriBOOST, one of the winning initiatives of the 2021 Global Mayors Challenge, is an agri-ecosystem innovation that enhances farmer capacities and catalyzes market forces for a sustainable, food-secure and vibrant local community. AgriBOOST provides local farmers with information about food demand and business owners with a reliable, high-quality, and affordable supply of fresh vegetables. AgriBOOST has four components – AgriBloom, AgriMart, AgriHub and AgriBOOST Comms.
AgriBloom aims to increase local farmers’ average monthly income and available sufficient, quality, sustainably produced and reasonably priced vegetables in the local market by increasing local vegetable production through technological innovation. AgriBloom works directly with farmers to strengthen their capacity to produce and earn more, and bolster their competitiveness.
AgriBloom provides extension service, technology demonstrations, and farm school trainings to farmers to expose them to best practices in vegetable farming and innovative technologies on vegetable production. Likewise, AgriBloom provides production support assistance to farmers to enhance their capacities to produce vegetables.
