Background:

The Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme builds on the Government of Bangladesh’s efforts to introduce a citizen-centric culture of innovation in civil services to improve service delivery and make services more inclusive, affordable, reliable and easier to access. This project will provide support to establish institutional mechanisms and improve accountability to accelerate SDG achievements in Bangladesh.

This project will have three components:

1. Institutionalizing Public Service Innovation and Improving Accountability

2. Catalyzing Digital Financial Services and Fintech Innovations

3. Incubating Private Sector-enabled Public Service Innovation

The project is funded by the Government of Bangladesh, UNDP, and other development partners, and is implemented by ICT and Cabinet Division.

Background of the Assignment:

Over the years a2i has developed digital solutions to strengthen and widen the protocols of public services to cater to the pressing and emerging needs of citizens in evolving contexts. ekShop, Muktopaath, HDMedia, DSDL Consultancy, ekPay, etc. are some notable solutions that have been providing demand-driven and citizen-centric public services that have high potential to address society’s pressing challenges and create entrepreneurial opportunities in the context of emerging technological changes and newer business avenues.

In this context, ‘Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme is going to recruit a Sr. National Consultant - Business Strategy who will facilitate the conduction of exercises to propose policy-oriented business solutions for the scalability and sustainability of some a2i innovations. Concurrently, these exercises would address their resource mobilization needs and institutional viability issues.   

 Objectives: 

The objectives of the assignment will be:

 Identify function-wise verticals to develop a portfolio for a2i for the purpose of developing revenue generation and reducing duplicity

 

Period of assignment/service (if applicable): 12 working days over 1 month.
