Description of the Assignment:  The Climate Finance Programmes of the UNDP Bangladesh plans to hire a national consultant to conduct a comprehensive analysis of climate vulnerability and develop a climate damage function specific in line with the financial sector in Bangladesh. The consultant will assess patterns of climate-related disasters, determine the parameters for climate damage function in consultation with the Bangladesh Bank and UNDP and develop a climate damage function. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of financial institutions in planning and decision-making, promoting a proactive approach to climate risk management of Bangladesh’s financial sector. The objective is to develop a climate damage function that analyses the vulnerability patterns of climate-related disasters in Bangladesh, with the goal of enabling banks and financial institutions to better understand, monitor, assess, and manage their climate related financial risks and opportunities. 

 

Period of assignment/services: 90 working days over a period of Jan - Aug 2025
