Introduction

About this Assignment

The communication and promotion of the benefits and opportunities of clean cooking solutions, approach, interventions, partnerships, and results is very critical for raising clean cooking awareness, potentials for change, and increased uptake of clean cooking technologies by the targeted beneficiaries. The Government of Tanzania (GoT) has developed a National Clean Cooking Strategy (2024 – 2034) to support its goal to reach 80% use of clean cooking by the population. The National Communication Strategy and the Awareness Raising and Sensitization Plan will be developed in this regard. The two documents are key input to support roll-out of the public awareness campaign/activities. The successful behavior changes and switch to cleaner cooking solutions depends on good understanding and adoption by the communities in Tanzania.

UNCDF seeks to hire a Research Firm or Institution to support in the assessment of the status of the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) of Tanzanians towards the use of clean cooking solutions. The assignment aims to attain the below objectives:

Develop baseline data and information on Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of the population to apprise the design and implementation of the clean cooking awareness campaign.

Comprehend options, approaches, and messaging for behavioral change towards adoption of sustainable cooking practices.

Recommend strategic communication and educational content for development and implementation for the national public awareness campaign on clean cooking to various audiences.
