Introduction
Scope of Services: Access to clean water, safe food and safe environment are priority development goals of the Solomon Islands Government. Strengthening the capacity of NPHL to monitor and evaluate the microbiological and chemical contamination risks associated with food, water, and the environment is of paramount importance of the EIF Project. This project, therefore, envisions engaging\contracting an accrediting entity to assess the NPHL Microbiology Laboratory to ensure that the laboratory operates competently and generate valid results thereby promoting confidence in testing and certification of commodities at both national and international levels and also ensure the health and safety of all Solomon Islanders. It is envisioned that the assignment will commence with remote engagement and communication between NPHL and the contractor followed by a detailed in-country visit to review, assess, audit and discuss key information in person. Bidding entities should outline in their quotations their approach in regard to number of visits and working modalities with a view to maximizing value for money and keeping costs reasonable.
