The purpose of consultancy is to support UNDP efforts to support local governments achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by generating visual tools, data storytelling and data visualizations.
Local and regional governments are key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2015, local governments and their associations have been increasingly active in promoting the SDGs through advocacy, working with their local population and partners in transposing the spirit of Agenda 2030 in cities and territories. Local Governments have also started to use SDGs as a strategic framework to deliver better and more innovative public services linked to SDG targets and indicators.
To deliver more effectively on the above, the UN SDG Action Campaign is seeking to recruit a consultant to support its activities in sharing and upscaling cities and local government contribution to SDG local action.
The initiative is led by the UN SDG Action Campaign, working closely with UNDP Country Offices.
UNDP is looking to select a consultant to conduct the following activities:
- Collecting data and high impact stories to highlight the contribution of cities and local governments to the Agenda 2030, including data on SDG targets and indicators in the three abovementioned cities (Bogota, Kumasi and Rourkela).
- Work together with the SDG local action team to filter the data and analyze the best suited depending on the options available to visualize the data.
- Process the data collected and elaborate between three or four visualizations by city, including geo-localization of impact, type of beneficiaries, financial analysis of the cost of services provided, etc. aligned with the provided SDG targets and indicators.
