Introduction
UNCDF’s Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Programme is looking for a partner organization capable of serving as an aggregator partner to strengthen the financial preparedness and resilience of sugarcane farming communities in Fiji by:
Creating awareness and enhance the financial and insurance literacy of cane growers in Fiji, empowering them to make informed decisions when accessing and using CDRFI products and services, such as parametric insurance, to improve their financial resilience.
Based on UNCDF’s commitments in Fiji to develop CDRFI solutions to improve the financial preparedness of vulnerable communities from the impacts of climate change and protect their livelihoods, UNCDF is looking to on-board an aggregator organisation/firm/company that will carry out the following activities:
- Act as an aggregator partner to expand access to Climate Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (CDRFI) solutions by:
· Enhancing the reach of CDRFI solutions to cane farming communities by implementing targeted outreach strategies.
· Conducting staff training and orientations towards successful project implementation on UNCDF developed CDRFI Literacy manual and learning materials.
- Increasing awareness, understanding, and literacy, particularly on climate risk/parametric insurance:
· Conducting financial literacy and insurance awareness campaigns, with a special emphasis on reaching cane farming communities and other vulnerable groups.
· Developing and disseminating training materials that are tailored to the specific needs and preferences of vulnerable segments of the population.
- Reporting and knowledge management:
· Reporting disaggregated data by sex, age, persons with disabilities, location, and other parameters to assess the number of persons reached through outreach activities.
· Reporting disaggregated data by sex, age, persons with disabilities, location, and other parameters to track the number of persons covered under the parametric insurance solutions.
