Introduction
UNDP Guinea-Bissau is looking for a national consultancy firm or national team of consultants, to support an international company to develop Guinea-Bissau's National Adaptation Plan (NAP).The objective of this consultancy is to provide national support to the international firm in the development of Guinea-Bissau’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP). The national firm will ensure local expertise, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and support data collection and institutional coordination to align the NAP with national priorities and policies.
Key objectives include:
- Strengthening the capacity of national institutions to contribute effectively to climate adaptation planning.
- Facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement and ensuring inclusivity in the NAP development process.
- Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing climate vulnerability and adaptation data relevant to Guinea-Bissau.
- Supporting the integration of adaptation measures into sectoral policies and national development plans.
- Assisting in the establishment of institutional and financial strategy to implement the NAP effectively.
- Enhancing coordination between government agencies, development partners, and civil society to ensure policy coherence and sustained implementation.
This process will be structured in two phases: Phase 1 will focus on gathering data, engaging stakeholders, and developing the NAP framework, while Phase 2 will ensure the alignment of the NAP with new policies and emerging climate priorities.
