Introduction
SCOPE OF TENDER:
UNDP/PAPP aims to lunch the activity of Primary Collection and Transferring Solid Waste in Gaza responding to the Gaza solid waste management crisis. The activity of waste collection and transport of solid waste in Gaza from the newly established displacement shelters and hosting communities will be handled by the private sector under the supervision of the UNDP and in close coordination with the counterparts. The collected waste shall be transferred to defined temporary/emergency dumpsites that will be determined in collaboration with the service providers. Waste collection will span 60 days; the contracting companies (2 different companies) will be requested to provide:
• Lot No. 1: Gaza Governorate: Collection an average 750 m3/day (provide 6 tipper trucks, 2 wheel loaders for collection, 2 wheel loaders for dumping site, 10 trolleys, and hire 20 waste collection workers) in Gaza.
• Lot No. 2: Northern Governorate (Biat Lahai - Bait Hanoun - Jabalia - Um Al Nasser): Collection an average 114 m3/day (provide 10 tractors with trailer, 2 wheel loaders for the dumping site, and hire 70 waste collection workers) in North Gaza.
This activity is part of efforts to mitigate the environmental crisis resulting from the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
