Introduction
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The UN SDG Action Campaign, a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General hosted by UNDP, aims to accelerate action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through advocacy, awareness, and engagement.
As part of its efforts, the Campaign is curating the Parallel Realities Pavilion at the 24th Triennale International Exhibition in Milan (May–November 2025). This pavilion will offer visitors an immersive experience showcasing global inequalities through the art of Uğur Gallenkuş, highlighting changemakers working toward equitable societies, and inspiring action for systemic transformation. The pavilion seeks to engage global audiences, media, and policymakers, reinforcing the UN SDG Action Campaign’s role in mobilizing action through art and storytelling.
In parallel, the UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony, scheduled for 29 October in Rome, will celebrate individuals and initiatives driving impactful change toward the SDGs. With over 5,500 applications from 190 countries annually, the awards highlight innovation, creativity, and resilience.
OBJECTIVE
To enhance the visibility of both the Pavilion and Awards, the Campaign seeks a media and communications agency based in Italy. The selected agency will develop and execute a media strategy to secure press coverage, engage influencers, manage public relations, and ensure broad outreach before, during, and after the events. This includes press releases, media partnerships, event photography and videography, and continuous media monitoring to maximize global engagement and impact.
SCOPE OF WORK
The selected agency will provide strategic PR and communications support for the Parallel Realities Pavilion and the UN SDG Action Awards, ensuring maximum media visibility. The agency will develop and implement a media engagement plan, focusing on:
- Media Relations & Communications – Develop a comprehensive media strategy, establish partnerships with key Italian and international media, draft and distribute press releases, manage interviews, and ensure broad coverage across platforms.
- Outreach & Influencer Engagement – Engage influencers, thought leaders, and organizations to amplify key messages and support the dissemination of the SDG Action Awards open call.
- Event PR & On-Site Support – Provide PR assistance during key events, along with professional photography and videography to document the Pavilion and Awards Ceremony.
- Media Monitoring & Strategy Adaptation – Track media coverage, analyze engagement, provide regular reports, and adjust strategies as needed to optimize visibility and manage reputational risks.
This partnership will ensure strong media presence, engagement, and impact for both events.
