Description of the Assignment:  To develop an Integrated and Localized Climate Action Framework for Hariwan Municipality, Sarlahi District, Madhesh Province 

The main objective of the assignment is to develop an Integrated and Localised gender responsive Climate Action Framework. More specific objectives are to:

• Conduct an in-depth study of existing climate action and adaptation plans in federal and local governments to assess gaps, challenges, and opportunities.

• Develop "An Integrated Gender Responsive Climate Action Framework" with reference to available resources and documents.

• Sensitize local representatives from Harion Municipality, Sarlahi, in the process of localizing successful climate and environmental actions to reduce the impact of climate change on marginalized and vulnerable groups, based on the developed "Integrated Gender Responsive Climate Action Framework."

• Strengthen the capacity of local governments to localize and implement the integrated framework in municipal plans and budgets to enhance local climate actions.

• Develop a "Localized Gender Responsive Climate Action Framework" tailored to the context of Harion Municipality. 

• Prepare evidence-based products based on lessons learned to support advocacy for an integrated, gender-responsive climate action framework.

 

Period of assignment/services: 60 days spread over five months
