NC to Implement Mangrove Monitoring and Develop a Carbon Stock Inventory

Introduction

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently implementing a project "Viet Nam Climate-Smart Coastal Communities (VN-CSCC)that requires the services of a National Consultant to Implement Mangrove Monitoring and Develop a Carbon Stock Inventory, as described in this document. 

Female consultants are encouraged to bid for this required service. Preference will be given to equally technically qualified female consultants.

The objective of this consultancy is to support the implementation of mangrove monitoring under Output 1321. This includes developing and operationalising a carbon stock inventory to assess the climate change mitigation and carbon sequestration potential of restored and rehabilitated mangrove ecosystems, as well as training forestry officers and local communities in the application of mangrove monitoring and carbon stock inventory procedures.

The consultant will work closely with community-based conservation groups, cooperatives, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure evidence-based monitoring of mangrove ecosystems. This will contribute to strengthening biodiversity conservation, enhancing ecosystem resilience and maximising carbon sequestration.

Period of assignment/services: 51 working days, including travel, from May 2025 to February 2026.
