Introduction
The following requirements outline the scope of work to be completed.
1. Site Reconnaissance and Geological Mapping
Verification of the site geology and the presence of geological structures, Structures such as faults, fractures, folding, bedding, and joints will hinder or require certain mitigation measures to be adhered to prior to commencement of any development. If required; rock samples to be obtained for further confirmation and analysis. Potential geological hazards such as slope failures to be noted and the appropriate mitigation measures provided. A reconnaissance survey to be carried out prior to survey to note down areas requiring the most attention.
2. GPS Survey
· The GPS survey is to be carried out to determine the exact location of all the investigations carried out such as the geophysics survey, the auger hole sampling sites and other geological features. It will also be useful in determining the elevation at the development site.
3. Geophysical Survey
· The survey to conducted to identify the subsurface (underground) geological profile and geological structures within the site.
4. Types of Equipment Used
· Sunto compass, a 20x hand lens, geological pick, topography maps, field maps, camera, Trimble GPS, laptop, satellite images, aerial photographs, geology maps, topography maps, scriber, 10% HCI acid, a field notebook, pencil, coloured pencil, protractor, measuring tape, knife, sample bags, Smartseis STand ES-3000 Seismograph machine, geotechnical auger machine, Geological bulletins.
