Consultancy for Review 18 Vocational Training & Skills Development curriculums

Introduction

The service provider/consultant is expected to undertake a review of existing Vocational Training Curriculum materials and resources through a participatory process, identifying gaps and opportunities in relation to priority subjects/courses as well as specific priority competencies on the existing curriculum documents. 


This includes:

1.  Inception Report detailing the strategy to be employed in the curriculum review and approach in the development process.

2.  Consultation Workshop to gather diverse perspectives and inputs from sectoral experts and stakeholders ensuring relevance, alignment to sector and industry needs, promote collaboration and identify and address gaps in skills development.

3.  Write a Consultation Workshop report detailing process of curriculum review, revision and updating.

4.  Draft revised curriculum in consultation with sectoral players and stakeholders. This includes but not limited to consolidation, review, and revision/updating and validation of curriculum with clear standards (trainers and learners manuals) considering the labour market, private sector, education, and training frameworks in South Sudan. The draft curriculum should also ensure relevance in consideration of labour market realities and context.

5.  Validation of draft curriculum with key stakeholders

6.  Consolidation and finalization of curriculum with clear standards and including a trainers’ and a trainee’s manual.

As final product, the Service Provider will be expected to compile, consolidate, and submit to Ministry of Labour and UNDP within the agreed upon timeline the following:

a.       Final Vocational Training Syllabus/ Trainer’s Guide with clear assessment over the course of training cycle for the 18 modules-

1.          ICT: Basic Computer Operations

2.          ICT: Basic Computer Hardware and Software Maintenance

3.          Building Construction: Masonry

4.          Building Construction: Painting

5.          Building Construction: Tiling

6.          Plumbing and Pipefitting

7.          Carpentry and Joinery

8.          Electrical Installation

9.          Cookery


10.  Food Processing


11.  Basic Front Office Operations


12.  Housekeeping


13.  Tailoring, Garment Making


14.  Metal Fabrication-Blacksmith


15.  Metal Fabrication- Welding


16.  Metal Fabrication-Sheetmetal Work


17.  Solar PV Installation


18.  Crosscutting: Life skills, Human rights, Peacebuilding, HIV/AIDs, Basic Literacy and Numeracy


b.      Final Vocational Trainees Guide with specific measurable learning guides describing clear learning.
