Introduction

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. Convened annually by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the CSW provides a critical platform for assessing progress, sharing experiences, and formulating policy recommendations that advance the rights of women and girls globally. This year’s CSW69 marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing+30) — a historic commitment adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, which continues to serve as the most comprehensive global blueprint for advancing women’s rights. the session provided a vital opportunity to reflect on the gains made over three decades, recommit to unfulfilled promises, and set a bold course toward achieving gender equality by 2030.

The convergence of CSW69 and Beijing+30 represents a defining moment in the global gender equality agenda. It offers a strategic opportunity for governments, UN entities, civil society, and the private sector to assess achievements, confront persistent gaps, and renew commitments to gender justice, equity, and inclusion. The outcomes of CSW69 will shape the direction of global gender equality efforts over the remaining five years of the 2030 Agenda and beyond. The results of CSW69 and Beijing+30 have generated significant momentum, calling for effective communication strategies to sustain engagement, deepen public awareness, and amplify national and global commitments. A dynamic post-CSW69 communications campaign is essential to translate global dialogue into public consciousness, policy actions, and community-level impact.

At CSW69, UNDP played a key role in supporting countries, including Nigeria, to engage meaningfully in the global dialogue, share best practices, and commit to bold, evidence-based actions to dismantle structural barriers to equality. UNDP’s contributions to CSW69 align with its mandate to support inclusive governance, poverty eradication, institutional reform, and sustainable development, all through a gender lens.

As part of its post-CSW69 strategy, UNDP Nigeria seeks to engage a firm to support the development and execution of a comprehensive Events, Engagements, Knowledge   Content & Communications Production CSW | Post-CSW.

This includes capturing and amplifying the country's participation and commitments at CSW69 ,Post CSW and Beijing+30, documenting best practices, producing multimedia content, and driving public events engagement through traditional and digital platforms.

The firm will work closely with UNDP’s Gender teams to deliver a set of targeted outputs aimed at enhancing visibility, deepening stakeholder engagement, and promoting national ownership of the commitments made at CSW69, while aligning with broader UNDP gender equality programming. This communications effort will ensure that post-CSW69 messaging and advocacy reinforce UNDP’s leadership on gender equality and showcase the tangible impact of its support to national partners in advancing the rights of women and girls.
