Introduction
Scope of works
"Procurement and Installation of water Treatments systems for Nafusa Mountain Municipalities, Libya"
Item | Description |
Pre-Bid Site Visit | Conduct a mandatory pre-bid site visit to the defined Municipality to assess site conditions and verify installation requirements. |
Delivery | Deliver all water treatment units and associated components to the designated sites. |
Installation | Supply, install, and fully integrate all system components and infrastructure in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standards. |
A. Water Treatment System Installation
- Mechanical and electrical installation of the water treatment unit including:
- Shaft alignment and anchoring
- Electrical wiring, grounding, and system protection
- Hydraulic and process piping
- Compliance with local codes and international standards
Additionally, the bidder should Process Piping and Fittings – High-pressure and chemical-resistant piping for RO and pre/post-treatment lines, including couplings, supports, and valves.
B. Site Preparation
All works must be designed and implemented in compliance with high engineering standards, ensuring long-term stability, safety, and performance. The bidder is required to submit detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications for the following:
- Site Preparation: Clear, level, and compact the site to support foundation loads.
- Foundations: Design and construct reinforced concrete foundations based on structural load requirements of tanks, treatment units, and roof structures.
- Power Supply Arrangements: Build appropriate infrastructure for electrical connections, including protective housing and conduit systems.
- Drainage & Access: Implement proper surface drainage and design non-slip access walkways to facilitate maintenance and prevent water accumulation.
C. Roofing System
The roofing structure must ensure durability, protection from environmental conditions, and compliance with applicable structural codes. Engineering design and specifications must be submitted with the offer.
- Pitched Roof Design: Engineered for load bearing, weather resistance, and drainage.
- Materials: Weather-resistant roofing (e.g., clay tiles or equivalent), securely installed.
- Steel Truss System: Galvanized structural steel trusses with corrosion-resistant connections.
- Support Columns: Anchored steel columns designed for stability and longevity.
- Corrosion Protection: Apply anti-corrosion coating to all exposed elements.
- Compliance Verification: Final inspection must confirm alignment, watertightness, and structural integrity.
D. Ceramic Basin Station
The basin station must be designed and installed using high-quality, durable materials, and must conform to international plumbing, structural, and public health standards. The station will be used by residents to fill large water containers/gallons manually and must accommodate high traffic and ease of use.
· Ceramic Basin: ISO 10545-compliant, high-fired, low-porosity ceramic or porcelain.
o Minimum: 10 taps per station.
o Ergonomic design for placing and filling 20–30 L water containers directly under taps.
o Basin depth and tap height must allow for easy container filling without spillage.
· Faucets: Durable, corrosion-resistant (e.g., brass/stainless steel), with lever or push-type operation for ease of use.
· Drainage: PVC or HDPE piping with appropriate slope and filters to handle overflow and accidental spillage.
· Canopy: Galvanized or aluminum frame with UV-resistant translucent roofing to protect users from weather.
· Foundation & Walkways: Reinforced concrete base with non-slip, water-resistant finish, sloped to prevent pooling.
· Water Supply Lines
