Introduction
BACKGOURND
Sustainable rural transformation is one of the fundamental pillars for Angola’s socio-economic development. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Angola has promoted initiatives that aim to foster inclusive, resilient and sustainable rural development. The use of renewable energy, particularly solar energy, offers a viable solution to meet the energy needs of small rural transformation centers, enabling food processing, irrigation, training and other essential activities for communities.
In this context, UNDP Angola intends to hire a specialized company/consortium to develop models for small rural transformation centers that use renewable energy sources. The models should be designed to facilitate rapid implementation and scalability, based on the predominant agricultural production in the target communities and taking advantage of solutions already tested by UNDP and FAO in the country.
It is also expected that the company/consortium will be able to establish effective resource mobilization strategies for the implementation of the models, ensuring greater diversification of funding sources and expansion of the network of donors and partners.
