Introduction
UNDP Kenya, in partnership with CPF Group, is seeking to engage an experienced and qualified firm to support the design and structuring of a thematic green finance instrument aimed at mobilizing private capital—particularly from institutional investors such as pension funds—to finance projects that deliver nature-positive outcomes and enhance climate resilience. The consultancy will focus on identifying a suitable issuer, developing a pipeline of bankable projects aligned with Kenya’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), and ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards and taxonomies. The scope of work includes conducting market assessments, investor consultations, ESG integration strategies, and recommending the most viable financial structure (e.g., concessional thematic bond or alternative) that meets the criteria of attractiveness to institutional investors, alignment with SDGs, and feasibility for implementation in the Kenyan context. Please indicate whether you intend to submit a bid by creating a draft response without submitting directly in the system.
