Strengthening Local Peacebuilding and Resilience in the South of Libya

Part of UNDP's Local Peacebuilding and Resilience Programme in southern Libya, funded by the Governments of Denmark, Luxembourg and Republic of Korea under the Governance, Peacebuilding, Crisis and Resilience Allocation of the Funding Window and by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this project aims to mitigate conflict through a resilience-based approach. The project offers a roadmap for recovery, peacebuilding, and resilience in Murzuq. The project enhances local capacities to improve living conditions for vulnerable groups, such as women and youth, and to create livelihood opportunities that reduce dependence on illicit activities and promote market development.

1. PROJECT BACKGROUND

a. Project description
The project involves the supply of electrical materials to support the development of an electrical feeding line for farms in Murzuq Municipality. This initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity by ensuring reliable access to electricity in the targeted farming areas.

b. Beneficiaries
The primary beneficiaries of this project are:
Farmers operating within the designated area.
Residents of Murzuq Municipality who will benefit from improved infrastructure and services.

3. Works brief
The scope includes:
Supply of electrical equipment as detailed in the Bill of Quantities.
All materials must comply with GECOL specifications.
Final delivery and handover of equipment to GECOL.

4. DURATION OF THE PROJECT
The estimated duration for the completion of this project is 45 calendar days, starting from the date of contract issuance.
