Introduction

Scope of Work

The primary objectives of the Engineering and Architectural services are for the Consultant firm to undertake the following tasks for each of the 4 prospective sites:

A.      Geotechnical Investigation:

o   Desk Study. If available, review existing geological maps, soil surveys, aerial photographs, historical records, and any previous geotechnical investigations relevant to the proposed sites.

o   Subsurface Investigation:

·       Boreholes/Test Pits: Advance a sufficient number and depth of boreholes and/or excavate test pits to adequately characterize the subsurface stratigraphy, soil/rock classifications, and groundwater conditions.

·       In-Situ Testing: Conduct appropriate in-situ tests (e.g., Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), to assess soil density, strength, and compressibility.

·       Sampling: Collect representative disturbed and undisturbed soil and rock samples for laboratory testing.

o   Laboratory Testing at a NATA-accredited facility: Conduct a suite of laboratory tests on collected samples, including but not limited to:

·       Atterberg limits (Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Plasticity Index)

·       Shear strength parameters (e.g., direct shear, triaxial compression)

o   Data Analysis and Engineering Recommendations:

·       Analyze all collected field and laboratory data.

·       Determine design soil parameters (e.g., bearing capacity, settlement characteristics)

·       The output for this task should be a compiled report titled, “Geotechnical Investigation”.

B.      Schematic Design

o   A schematic design should include detailed planning arrangements, specialized equipment layouts, architectural elevations, structural and engineered service options, proposed schedule of finishes, and an updated project cost estimates for final approval.

o   The output for this task should be a compiled report titled, “Schematic Design”

C.      Engineering and Architectural Documentation and Supplementary Information

o   A comprehensive and detailed structural, civil and architectural design plans including material takeoff and costing estimates are to be provided.

o   Provide a tender package with all plans included, BoQ priced and blank, Technical Specifications and a Contract document.
