The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) seeks to develop inclusive digital economies in Uganda by strengthening the institutional capacity of Agribusiness SMEs to conduct sustainable business operations using digital solutions. The SME sector contributes significantly to Uganda’s GDP, employment, and industrial output, with Agribusiness SMEs playing a pivotal role in value addition, job creation, and economic transformation. However, these SMEs face challenges such as limited access to finance, lack of reliable business records, and low adoption of digital technologies.

The assignment aims to provide Agribusiness SMEs with digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy of business records, access to finance, and overall competitiveness. The solution is expected to improve efficiency in operations, processes, and practices, while promoting a more efficient value chain ecosystem.

UNCDF invites proposals for the provision of a digital solution suitable for Agribusiness SMEs in Uganda. The service provider will be expected to deliver a solution that:

• Improves efficiency and accuracy of business records, operations, and processes, including production, purchases, sales, and expense management.

• Enhances quality control, compliance, and financial and accounts management.

• Integrates data analytics and business intelligence to provide real-time access to data for decision making.

• Generates digital records and reporting that can be leveraged by financial service providers to assess SMEs’ financial capacity and eligibility for financing.

• Targets Agribusiness SMEs primarily engaged in processing and value addition across Uganda.

 

Interested suppliers must submit their offer directly in the system as instructed in the solicitation document, following the instructions in the available user guide. n case you have never registered before, you can register a profile using the registration link shared via the procurement notice and following the instructions in the guides available in UNDP website:  https://www.undp.org/procurement/business/resources-for-bidders.
