Introduction
UNDP Bhutan would like to seek proposals from eligible and qualified consulting firms based in Bhutan to submit your proposal for the consulting assignment to conduct Geotechnical Investigation and Slope stability assessment for Pekarzhing and Ammochu Local Area Plan (LAPs), Phuentshokling Thromde.I. To assess the geological stability/geotechnical feasibility of the area identified for the proposed development plan and map the different levels of hazards.
II. To assess the potential adverse impacts of the development project on the geological stability/geotechnical conditions.
III. To provide appropriate recommendations and measures to be adopted where necessary,
IV. To optimize land for development through mitigation measures based on the multi-hazard analysis.
Scope of Work
The assignment will involve thorough field investigations, stability assessment and analysis, and data collection encompassing geology, topography, hydrology, flood, land use, and any other geotechnical aspects that impose risk to developmental activity and the environment. A risk mitigation action plan shall be developed to minimize the adverse effects of the above factors on developmental activity and the environment. The study will be carried out in close coordination with the UNDP Country Office (CO), and Phuentsholing Thromde. The areas identified for detailed Slope Stability Assessment and Geotechnical Investigation are Pekarzhing and Ammochhu LAP covering a total area of about 435 acres (336 acres in Pekarzhing LAP and 99 acres in Ammochhu LAP).
