Introduction

UNDP is launching an initiative to enhance the resilience and sustainability of food systems in Jordan and Kenya, addressing the interconnected challenges of humanitarian needs, peacebuilding, and development. This initiative brings together the expertise of the UNDP Food and Agriculture Commodity Systems (FACS) team within BPPS, the Crisis Bureau Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery for Building Resilience (DRT), and the UNDP Resilience Hub for Africa in Nairobi. By integrating sustainable food system strategies with crisis management expertise, the project will adopt a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary approach to tackling food insecurity and fostering resilience.

As part of its commitment to strengthening food systems’ resilience and inclusive local economies, UNDP seeks to engage an experienced organization to design and produce a culinary coffee table book in collaboration with the specialized chef contracted by UNDP. The book will highlight Jordan’s local food traditions with a focus on the Jordan Valley , showcase stories of farmers and producers across the Jordan Valley, and feature original recipes that celebrate local ingredients and sustainable cooking practices. The selected organization will be responsible for the book’s full production, including creative design, photography, layout, editing, printing, and delivery, in both Arabic and English. The content for the coffee table book will be provided by the specialized chef.
