Junior Consultant – Program Support on Private Sector Portfolio

Duration of assignment: 100 working days.

Duty station: Vientiane Capital, Laos. 


Description of the Assignment:  

Under the overall supervision of the Team Lead for Inclusive Growth Unit, and in close coordination with the Economist Unit, the Junior Consultant will provide analytical, programme and communciation support to the implementation of Inclusive Value Chains Programme and the broader development of private sector portfolio.

The consultant is expected to provide support in the following areas:

A. Coordination of Stakeholders and Partnerships

  • Support coordination among implementing partners, government agencies, business associations, private sector actors, financial institutions, UN agencies, and development partners engaged in programme delivery.
  • Assist in organizing meetings, consultations, and workshops, including preparation of agendas, briefing notes, minutes, and follow-up documentation.
  • Support the mapping and profiling of potential partners and investors relevant to inclusive value chains and MSME financing.
  • Contribute to the preparation of partnership materials such as concept notes, donor briefs, and stakeholder updates.

B. Technical and Programme Support

  • Assist in implementing technical activities under the Inclusive Value Chains Programme, including support to business advisors and MSME partners.
  • Maintain documentation and track progress of advisory assignments, ensuring regular follow-up with beneficiaries and implementing partners.
  • Support the organization and coordination of training, coaching, and capacity-building sessions for MSMEs and business advisors.
  • Provide research and analytical support to programme activities if needed.

 

C. Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), and Reporting

  • Contribute to data collection and analysis for progress reports and knowledge products.
  • Assist in drafting communication materials, including social media posts, success stories, and visual content highlighting programme achievements.
  • Support documentation of lessons learned, case studies, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across partners and UNDP portfolios.
