· Within this context, UNDP Bangladesh aims to conduct a study on artisanal fishermen across the coastal areas of Southwestern Bangladesh. The objective of the study is to:
a) understand the livelihood challenges of the fishermen community mainly involved in artisanal fishing in the climate-vulnerable areas of Southwestern Bangladesh and
b) review existing social protection schemes and assess the social protection needs of the artisanal fishermen community; identify gaps between needs and prevailing system and recommend policies/programs to eliminate the social protection gaps.
The Consultant is expected to work closely with UNDP Bangladesh Research Facility, conduct a field survey of artisanal fishermen, analyze the findings and prepare, draft and finalize the study report.
Period of assignment/services: 80 working days over four and half months.
