Description of the Assignment:  

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Viet Nam is looking for an International consultant to support the Governance and Participation Unit within the UNCAC project, as described in this document.

The key objectives of the assignment are as follows:

(1) to review an assessment report on Vietnam’s reservations to UNCAC with recommendations on the possibility of adjustment of these reservations to strengthen Vietnam’s UNCAC compliance and share international experiences, and

(2) to review a study report on improving legal framework on preventing corruption in policy and law making and share international standards and good practices.

Under the UNCAC project, the Governance and Participation Unit - UNDP will provide technical assistance to the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam (GIV) to (1) conduct an assessment of the Vietnam’s reservations to the UNCAC to recommend on the possibility of adjustment of these reservations to improve the UNCAC compliance, and (2) develop policy recommendations for improving legal framework on corruption in policy and law making in Viet Nam in line with international standards. 

Period of assignment/services: 11 working days from August 2023 to December 2023.
