Overview : UN Resident Coordinator's Office - Project 113650 National Consultant to Support the UN in Mauritius in engaging with business organisations The UN reform calls for better coordination for results also provides an opportunity to galvanize efforts for the implementation of the SDGs at global and local levels. The fulfillment of private sector responsibilities in this regard is essential to achieving the Global Goals and the 2030 Agenda’s broad and ambitious vision of peaceful, prosperous and inclusive societies. In this context the UN Resident Coordinator’s office is seeking the services of a proactive and diligent consultant to provide exceptional support to the UN in Mauritius in engaging with business organisations. The Consultant, to support Private Sector Engagement will work closely with the UN country team in Mauritius as well as the Advisory Board for the Global Compact Network in Mauritius to develop of strategy for UN business engagement, including supporting the UN involvement in corporate sustainability events and other engagements. The Consultant will play a key role in advancing the UN Global Compact's goal to mobilize a global movement of responsible companies and organizations to create the world we want. Objective and Scope Effective support to the UN in Mauritius in engaging with the Private Sector. Expected output(s)/deliverable(s): - An inception Report on the engagement strategy from September 2019 and beyond.
