| Overview : The mountain communities are among the most disadvantaged of the world, while at the same time playing an important role in the sustainable development of our planet. The GEF SGP interventions in Lesotho for OP 6 are focussing in the mountain region. As such the region is inhabited by-and-large by rural mountain communities with relatively low literacy rates and with low capacities to implement and manage projects. Thus it is important that these communities are mentored in order empower them and to build their capacity in project management and proper reporting. The mentorship is done in pursuit of achieving goal of leaving no one behind and including all including the most vulnerable and more often than not, overlooked sectors of the community, for greater impact. Therefore, the SGP invites proposals from qualified civil society organizations to carryout capacity development activities for the SGP OP 6 and OP 7 grantees, in the priority landscape. |
