Overview : CALL FOR PROPOSALS/GEF6/ZVBP SMALL GRANTS/01/2020. The Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry (METHI) in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is implementing a GEF 6 funded Global Wildlife Project titled, “Strengthening Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management and Climate-Smart Landscapes in the Mid to Lower Zambezi Region of Zimbabwe” also known as the Zambezi Valley Biodiversity Project (ZVBP) over a six-year period 2018-2024. Anchored on landscape wide approach, the project has been designed with a small grants window for NGOs and CBOs to support innovative community driven sustainable livelihood projects in Muzarabani, Mbire and Hurungwe Districts. We are pleased to invite interested NGOs/CBOs to develop innovative project proposals for sustainable livelihoods projects under any one of the following thematic areas: Awareness and Education: Project area awareness campaigns targeting Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT), deforestation and climate change adaptation and mitigation Sustainable livelihood activities that address community based Sustainable Forestry Management (SFM), Sustainable Land Management (SLM) and Human Wildlife Conflict (HWC) management. The provision of alternative sources of energy, clean energy and energy saving technologies in the targeted Districts.
The proposed projects are targeted for Muzarabani, Mbire and Hurungwe Districts. Prospective applicants should submit documents listed below.
