| Overview : The UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa (RSCA) submitted a project proposal entitled “Harnessing the Potential of Informal Enterprises and Workers for Inclusive Growth” to the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) Secretariat and the European Union for funding support. The proposal is the result of an extensive dialogue and joint interest from ACP Secretariat and UNDP to engage in supporting informal markets, enterprises and workers through a South-South and Triangular Cooperation Initiative. The above project objective is to unlock the potential of informal markets to contribute to inclusive growth in ACP Countries, especially for women and youth. This is to be achieved through action in 4 key outputs areas, respectively: Strengthening national and sub-national legislative, institutional capacities, policies and strategies to create an enabling environment for informal economy and support progressive formalization; Improving productivity, competitiveness and market inclusion of informal enterprises; Supporting access to finance and investment resources for informal sector/economy;
Enhancing exchange of resources, technology, skills and know-how on informal markets through ACP Cooperation and Partnerships; UNDP is therefore looking for a qualified international consultant with previous successful EU project development experience and knowledge on informal economy in ACP countries to work on this assignment.
