Overview

The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) carries out Independent Country Programme Reviews (ICPRs) to assess UNDP’s contributions to national development results and evaluate the effectiveness of UNDP’s strategy. The purpose of the ICPR is to: i) support the development of the next UNDP Country Programme Document and ii) strengthen accountability of UNDP to national stakeholders and to the Executive Board. Given the exceptional circumstances, the Mongolia ICRP will also inform UNDP’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy in Mongolia.

From September through December 2020, IEO will conduct the ICPR of the UNDP Mongolia country programme (2017-22). In this regard, the IEO is seeking a national think tank, academic institutions or research institute, to (a) input into a review of UNDP performance and (b) conduct a formative analysis of UNDP’s positioning in the context of COVID-19, focusing on topics that are relevant to the UNDP country programme in Mongolia and the United Nations Development Assistance Framework 2017-2021, such as inclusive and healthy ecosystems and responsive and accountable government.
