Overview : Considering global dynamics related to wildlife crime-related practices and activities, it has become necessary for the Government of Botswana to review and update the policy and legislative framework for dealing with this global scourge. The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has therefore commissioned a process of reviewing and updating the country’s National Anti-Poaching Strategy (NAPS). The exercise will be undertaken through the engagement of a local consultant, who will review and update the NAPS to ensure that it optimally meets national conservation aspirations efficiently and effectively. |
