Overview : We are looking for a group of experienced professional consultants from the private sector to help implement the SDP Methodology within selected value chains. - Background
UNDP Botswana, together with its local partners, have launched an exciting initiative to support the Botswana private sector through the Business Suppliers Development Program (SDP). The program supports SMEs in different value chains to become efficient, and competitive, suppliers using our flagship Supplier Development Methodology (SDM). The initial value chains supported are in the sectors of; Mining, Projects/Infrastructure, Agro Processing, Other Manufacturing, Textiles and Leather. The selected SMEs/Suppliers undergo a 10-12 months rigorous developmental programme based on the SDM which is a 6-stage improvement program Training of Consultants Consultants will first be required to undergo training on the 6 stages of the SDM, over a 3montsh period. The makeup, of the training, will be class and field set ups. On successful completion of the course, the consultants are assessed and graduated to the next level of UNDP recruitment. They will be assigned to work with select number of SMEs and mentor these on the SDM - Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen Consultants who are locally based
- Available to undergo the SDP methodology training
- Agree to work with selected SMEs
- Minimum of; Degree, Masters / Postgraduate in the areas of Engineering, Business Management, Social Sciences, Administration or related fields
- Experience in; Management Consultancy / Business Development / Production Efficiency / Mining Cluster, Agro Processing Cluster / Projects Infrastructure Cluster / Textiles Cluster / Leather Cluster / Manufacturing / Quality Assurance etc
- At least 10 years’ experience as a consultant or 12 years in expert role within an organization, on any of the above areas
