AMKENI WAKENYA CIVIL SOCIETY DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE FACILITY ADVERTISEMENT COUNTY BASED CALL FOR PROPOSALS ON INTERVENTIONS FOCUSING ON SAFEGUARDING HUMAN RIGHTS & PROTECTING VULNERABLE GROUPS PROGRAMME TITLE: “Supporting an Inclusive and Multi-Sectoral Response to COVID-19 and Addressing its Socio-Economic Impact in Kenya” 1. The Civil Society Democratic Governance Facility (Amkeni Wakenya) is a civil society strengthening project of UNDP established in 2008 with the principal aim of providing coordinated technical and financial support to civil society organizations (CSOs) working on democratic governance in Kenya. 2. Amkeni Wakenya is currently inviting interested and qualified Non-state actors including NGOs, FBOs, CBOs to submit proposals for an award of grants in a programme entitled “Supporting an Inclusive and Multi-Sectoral Response to COVID-19 and Addressing its Socio-Economic Impact in Kenya.” 3. The Project targets the following Counties: 1. Western Region (Kisumu & Busia, Counties) 2. Coast Region (Kilifi, County) 3. Northern frontier Region (Mandera, County) 4. Nairobi Region/Metropolis (including contiguous parts of Kiambu, Machakos, and Kajiado) 4. This is a Targeted Call open to Civil Society Organizations duly registered in Kenya with physical presence and/or operating in the targeted counties. 5. Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for a grant, applicants must: ? Be a non-profit making Civil Society Organization (CSO) registered under the relevant Laws of Kenya and compliant with any other regulatory requirements. ? Be registered in Kenya for a period of not less than two (2) years. ? Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project with their partners, not acting as an intermediary. ? Demonstrate prior experience of at least two years or more, carrying out activities related to governance and development, aligned with this project and; ? Have a bank account with certified and audited books of accounts for the past two years. 6. Organizations should submit applications and the required supporting documents as stipulated in the proposal guidelines. 7. The concept Note and Full Proposal Application should be completed in the requisite format contained in the document Guidelines for Submission of proposals (Call 5) which will be uploaded on the UNDP Kenya Website and can be accessed through the E-tendering link. 8. Amkeni Wakenya will hold an interactive virtual public information meeting on 16 September 2020 from 9.00am to 12.00pm to provide more details on the call for proposal and provide answers to frequently asked questions.
