Overview :

The consultancy is planned within the framework of UNDP Nigeria’s Environment, Climate and Energy Programme powered by the Accelerator Lab Initiative. The initiative is focused on facilitating the process of surfacing local innovations responding to the Health Waste management challenge caused by the ongoing COVID19 response.

A hackathon is proposed as a solution mapping event where participants take a closer look at complex development challenge of health waste and aim to surface and amplify them and connect innovators to cutting-edge technologies and skills and resources for impact. Effectively, this hackathon is planned as an interdisciplinary event where participants from different areas of expertise will collaborate in teams to find innovative solutions to health waste management under expert supervision in a limited timeframe. During a hackathon, participants aim to develop viable ideas into actual products or prototypes. The event will also offer opportunities for extensive networking; connecting with innovators from other areas of expertise can often drive surprising collaborations.
