Overview :

The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in The Gambia is in the process of drafting a UN Common Country Analysis document though its internal drafting team. This document is a common UNCT product that will be owned by the UNCT and the author of this document will be the UN country team in The Gambia. It will be a living document that will be updated annually. The UNCT hence is looking for a qualified editor to finalize this document to move on to the design of the next UN cooperation framework.

Duties and Responsibilities

Objectives and Scope of the Work:

The Editor will be required to do the following:

  • Edit the final UN Common Country Analysis Document which has narratives and some schematic/infographic presentations.  She must ensure that the English text, in which the document is sent to her, is presented in a manner that is correct, effective and easy to read without compromising the information that the author/drafting team intended. In addition, the editor needs to ensure the consistency throughout the document including:

a) Do primary edit of text,

(b) Go through the final draft CCA document, sense, consistency, language, repetition, and style.

(c) Check references, including full urls, correct placement in text, in footnotes, and as sources for tables/figures;

(d) Insert and check corrections from author(s); proof read the whole document; check Table of Contents, lists of Figures, Tables; and

(e) Prepare the final UNDAF document in presentable format in word and PDF version.

 

Deliverables 

The Editor is expected to produce a report that reflects the quality and the standards established by the global and other countries CCA document.
