Market Transformation through Design and Implementation of Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Energy Sector (MTRE3) is a five-year project (2016-2021) funded by GEF, aims at supporting the design and implementation of appropriate climate change mitigation actions in the energy generation and energy end use sectors in Indonesia, focusing on renewable-based electricity generation and energy efficiency in buildings.

The project started on March 2017 and is in its third year of implementation until March 2022. In the buildup to measure GHG emissions, MEMR DGE has been developed the online platform, namely Aplikasi Penghitungan dan Pelaporan Emisi Sektor Ketenagalistrikan hereinafter reffered as a APPLE-Gatrik. Albeit, APPLE-Gatrik platform was specifically designed to cater GHG Inventory from power generation sector. Currently, MTRE3 Project is supporting MEMR DGE to strengthening the MRV system for mitigation action in renewable energy sector. To date, APPLE-Gatrik has a direct calculation method for mitigation action for renewable energy sector in the system. The data for each electricity generating unit will be validated in advance by the holding electricity generating company before being reported to the APPLE-GATRIK system. To support this objective, MEMR will improve the APPLE-Gatrik to improve features and methodology for GHG emission mitigation action. UNDP seeks to hire a system programmer to support the development of APPLE-Gatrik.
