| Overview : UNDP Vietnam is seeking for 01 International Senior Consultant on Climate Change Policy (Estimated: 34 working days) (Ref. 3-210601) With its extensive coastline and deltaic plains, Viet Nam is considered to be among the most vulnerable countries to climate change globally. Extreme weather events such as typhoons and tropical storms have increased in intensity, magnifying socio-economic and health impacts on rural, urban, coastal, and mountain communities, and endangering critical transportation and drainage infrastructure. The Mekong Delta is one of the most susceptible deltas in the world to sea level rise. The main objective of the consultant is to support MONRE and UNDP to develop and update Viet Nam’s National Climate Change Strategy (NCCS) for the Period 2021-2050, vision 2100. The senior consultant is expected to work closely with a range of International and National Consultants, who are also being mobilised by UNDP, GIZ and MONRE. The selection will be based on a competitive basis and will comply with UNDP procurement regulations.
