| Overview : In the beginning of 2020, several cases of novel corona virus called covid-19, appeared across China. The disease quickly spread to other regions due to its high transmissive nature and increased cases globally and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, thus Lesotho was not an exception to this outbreak. Covid-19 infection is affecting the whole world causing crisis to the economy and compromised health condition to the entire population. It is at this note that governments in all countries join forces and work towards fighting this virus at all levels. As part of a combating strategy against covid-19, some SMMEs are engaged in the manufacture of hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is an antiseptic disinfectant available in the form of a liquid, gel and foam solutions. It is a supplement to hand washing with soap and water. It is said to be more effective in killing germs. Public awareness campaigns by global health authorities such as the WHO play a significant role in promoting the use of hand sanitizers. Increasing consumer awareness about hygiene together with government initiatives are driving the hand sanitizer market. Hand sanitizer is used for cleaning the hands to maintain the personal hygiene and decrease the risk of infectious diseases by killing germs present on the hands. Hand sanitizers are now being used on a daily basis in public places, supermarkets, hospitals and schools to disinfect the hands and kill germs.
