| Overview : To show support for World Children's Day/UNICEF75, buildings, monuments and landmarks across the globe will light up blue on 20 November. The central concept of the event #GoBlue event in Botswana is to light up in blue Kazungula Bridge, which officially opened on 10 May 2021, and links Botswana and Zambia at the point where the borders of four countries meet. The event will take place on the bridge itself after night fall, in which the bridge will be ‘switched on’ in blue by the children and VIPs. Under the general supervision of the Senior ICT Associate and in close coordination and consultation with the Communication Officer, Kazungula bridge Project Management Team the contractor will provide lighting for the entire Kazungula bridge at night fall of the World Childrens Day on the 20th of November 2021.
Task
To light the Kazungula bridge blue on World Children’s Day on the 20th of November 2021. There is a total of 144 cable stays and 12 Pylons. Each side of the bridge (LHS and RHS) has 6 pylons each containing a total of 12 cable stays (the longest cable stay is 122.90m). The height of each Pylon is 16.0m and the whole bridge is 923m Long. |
