Overview : As outlined in the implementation plan, South Africa is supposed to develop and implement a long-term capacity building strategy on GHG compilation and mitigation actions assessment as part of building capacities of South African government officials and other relevant stakeholders who will be responsible for data provision to compile the BTRs. As such as part of implementing the long-term capacity building strategy, there will be courses offered to a maximum of 30 selected participants on GHG compilation and mitigation actions impact assessment. The courses will be offered by sectoral experts Waste, Energy, Industrial process, and product Use (IPPU) and Agriculture, Forestry, and other Land Use (AFOLU)The process of procuring a consultancy team to deliver this work is already underway. The overall objective is to assess the curriculum developed for training courses on GHG inventory compilation and mitigation actions assessment as part of implementing the Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project of South Africa for a period of 15 months. |
