INVITATION TO BID (ITB)

Procurement of Construction Works of a Market in Ciforo Sub-County Headquarters, Adjumani District

UNDP Uganda with support from the Government of the Republic of South Korea is implementing the Uganda

Host and Refugee Community Empowerment Project that started in 2019 and will be concluding in December 2023.  This is an area-based, gender-responsive emergency livelihoods and economic recovery project, implemented using the UNDP 3X6 model. The project activities run in three practical interrelated phases with one leading to the other as per the UNDP 3X6 principles of Inclusion (Engage, Generate Income) – phase I, Ownership (Save, Joint Venture)-Phase II and Sustainability (Invest & Access to markets) - Phase III.

To date, a total of 10,137 beneficiaries are enrolled onto the program against a target of 7,200 direct beneficiaries. The project having transitioned now to Phase three, in 2022, the interventions are focusing on the transition   from short-term to long-term development   agenda, thereby   bridging the Humanitarian, Development, and Peace nexus. As per the project document, Phase III of the project involves creation of an enabling environment to ensure sustainability of the project intervention by constructing markets. This is intended to expand business space for the target communities and to ensure that the Micro and Small business enterprises started with the support of the project are sustained

In relation to the above, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is extending support to the Adjumani District Local Government through the procurement of Construction Works of a Market in Ciforo Sub-County Headquarters, Adjumani District. This Invitation to Bid is extended to suitably qualified companies to Construct a Market in Ciforo Sub-County Headquarters, Adjumani District.

There will be a pre-bid conference, details of which are contained in the ITB.

Vendors must confirm attendance to UNDP latest by 2:00pm on the 13th of September 2022. Only vendors who confirm attendance will be allowed entry to the venue of the pre-bid conference.

Please note that attendance is mandatory for interested bidders.
